Hong Kong began a free and voluntary mass-testing program for coronavirus Tuesday as part of a strategy to break the chain of transmission in the city's third wave of infections. The virus-testing program has become a flash point of political controversy in Hong Kong.

Many residents fear their DNA could be collected during testing, which is being conducted with the assistance of medical staff from mainland China. The Hong Kong government has insisted the program is beneficial to fighting the epidemic and ensuring Hong Kong comes out of the pandemic unscathed.
More than 500,000 people in the city of 7.5 million signed up in advance for the week-long program. The government expects 5 million people to take part.

Guinea's President Alpha Conde will seek a third term in office in elections slated for October. In March, Conde pushed through a revamped constitution which he says reset the two-term limit and enables him to run again. The controversial move sparked violent protests, in which dozens of civilians were killed. The stage is now set for more unrest as the election looms.

Conde became the country's first democratically elected president in 2010, but has come under fire for becoming increasingly authoritarian. Prior to his election the West African nation had been under military rule for more than 50 years. Guinea declared its independence from France in 1958.

A powerful 7.0-magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of northern Chile and was followed by an aftershock measuring 6.3 within half an hour. Damage and minor landslides were reported near the epicenter. There were no immediate reports of casualties. Although there was no threat of a tsunami, a number of people living near the coast were evacuated as a precaution.

Chile sits on the Pacific Rim of Fire and is prone to frequent and large earthquakes. In 1960 a 9.5-magnitude earthquake, the largest ever recorded, struck Chile killing thousands of people.

Am I really doing 태권도 again, after all these years?
Who would have thought teaching 태권도 during the world travel?
It was a great challenge but I have been truly happy teaching these students 태권도. Their passion to learn new culture is beyond our imagination.

In fact, I wasn’t 100% sure if we could do this or not. I felt the performance was keep getting faster than the original 태권도 song. So until the last minute, I had to go behind the stage keep telling them to slow down a little bit.

The show started, and when I heard “차렷! 경례!” I have to admit I got goose bumps. These kids are performing 태권도 show in Korean song! I felt truly blessed to have this experience that I would never forget this moment.

Are we meeting the head of Tanzania Tourism Board?

I was so nervous that I couldn’t sleep at all. I had a phone call with the secretary but wasn’t clear about the reason.

Early in the morning we waited at the meeting room after passing through the maximum security. And finally, she came in who was so gentle and humble; she seemed really excited to finally see us.

We sat down at the meeting table for an hour, discussing about what we have done, what we plan to do, and how we could bring in more tourist to Tanzania. As we leave the meeting room, I told my wife.

Anything can happen in Africa, you never know.

Next morning when I opened my tent door, I saw Damian and Alex having a hard time; their eyes were all red. Something wasn’t right.

So, this was his story. At midnight, he had to go pee so he opened his tent door and suddenly he couldn’t move his body because a lion was staring at him about 10 meters away. For a few minutes they stared at each other. Fortunately, the lion left and he came back inside holding his pee all night.

Who would have imagined seeing a lion in the middle of nowhere? This is a real jungle, Tanzania.
